Credentials

CCS (2007): I am certified through the Seattle School of Canine Studies, the only dog training degree program certified by the State of Washington. This program focuses heavily on the science of canine behavior and animal learning theory. Curriculum includes both hands on training and behavior evaluation experience. Graduation is contingent upon attendance throughout the rigorous two-month program and the passing of a 3 hour comprehensive final exam.

CTP (2010): I am certified through the Karen Pryor Academy, a national dog training program that is rooted in force-free training methods (commonly known as clicker training). Course work includes extensive online curricula, hands on training with dog guided by curricula, as well as in person workshops attended by student/dog for assessment of skills by certified Karen Pryor representatives. Graduation is contingent upon successful completion of all on-line course work and assessments, written assignments, training journals, workshop training assessments, a final on-line exam, a final 10 part chain performed by student and dog, and a final training assessment of a group class. This work is completed over the course of the six month program.
